Tiger, tiger roar

Aixing had her second Kyuki-Do lesson.  It's a form of martial arts.  Upon entering the Academy, the practice of martial arts begins.  Immediately the tigers begin showing respect by removing shoes and hanging coats in the proper place, bowing in the practice room, practicing mindfulness and being courteous with others.  They also have to get their attendance card and then wait until the instructor asks for it so it can be marked.   She really enjoys it.  I think they were pretty set on routines and stuff in China.  The six tenets of martial arts are courtesy, humility, integrity, perseverance, self-control and indomitable spirit.   Also, they are learning some korean words so I'll guess she'll know 3 languages...English, chinese and korean.  4 if you count words she learns on Diego and Dora (I finally gave in and let her watch them). The kids get to run and do an obstacle course but when teacher says the korean word for stop they have to freeze.  She's already picking it up.  They've learned guard pose, kicking and alot of other things.  I think this is her favorite activity.   She wants to stay and watch older kids when they're doing their class.  Tonight was awards night and she earned a certificate of participation.  By next month, she have earned her first strip on her belt!  She was very proud and couldn't wait to show Baba her certificate!  Here she is in guard pose.  Okay, she's pretty darn cute in the outfit...it's a size 0000!
